The Core Problem It Solves
Families of neurodivergent kids in BC have access to significant government funding — CYSN Benefits, BC Disability Supplement, Child Disability Benefit, RDSP, Autism Funding, school district support, and more — but the system is fragmented, jargon-heavy, and hard to navigate. Many families are leaving thousands of dollars per year on the table simply because they don't know what they're entitled to or how to apply.
What the App Does
Funding Navigator (primary focus) A guided 5-step onboarding quiz that asks about the child's age, diagnosis, support needs, household income, DTC status, and current programs. On completion it auto-populates a personalised funding dashboard showing every source the family is likely eligible for — with dollar estimates, progress bars, and urgent action alerts (especially around the Disability Tax Credit, which unlocks several other benefits).
DTC Urgency Alert A prominent alert card for families who haven't completed their Disability Tax Credit application, showing a deadline countdown and a step-by-step checklist. Missing the DTC can mean missing $12,000+ per year.
Pods Small, self-managing care teams of neuroaffirmative providers built around local families. Inspired by the Buurtzorg model — providers coordinate directly, share session notes, and work toward shared goals. As seen in your screenshots: Maple Pod and Oak Pod, each with their provider and learner rosters.
Provider Directory A searchable directory of neuroaffirmative providers in BC — therapists, educators, and specialists who have signed the Edify pledge committing to strength-based, identity-affirming practice.
Community, Tips, and Messaging (coming soon at MVP) Features in the roadmap but locked at launch with a waitlist/notify-me capture so families can see the platform vision.
